Porch dogs vs. Shop dogs

We love pretty pictures and design inspiration, so we have quite a few books in the shop..

Well, not that many..

One of my favorite books in the shop is "Porch Dogs" by Nell Dickerson.
Nell is a photographer/anthropologist/art & set designer from Mississippi.
Her book is a hilarious collection of fine art dog portraits taken while keeping their vigil on the family porches of the South.

We talked about how nice it would be to include our four-legged family members into our new world as 'shop dogs.'

While moving some things one day, I made an attempt to introduce my own dear Emma Rae to a possible job as a shop dog.  She failed the task miserably becoming overly excitable with a tendency to run out the door--much like her owner.

Perhaps Bunker will be interested in the position?

But who could get any shopping done with such a handsome boy in the shop?
He would steal the show!

 My canine cousin-from-another-mother-species
Oliver, would make a wonderful shop dog.
He's quiet, well-dressed (n'est-ce pas?),

and the perfect color!

Come take a peek and do some porch sitting of your own
